Dick and Carey model of ISD

One of the better known ISD models; it is usually utilized/ implemented by many organizations, as well as, educational technology is consider to be the Dick and Carey model of ISD (Instructional Systems Design/Development). One of the key factor or features is the Dick and Carey model implements assessment tools up-front before deciding how to continue with a specific course of instruction. This concept let developers know up front “what “ they will be testing, and “how” each individual’s will be testing, however they will be able to implement the necessary type of training that will result in success for each parties that is involved.
The (1996) model of Dick and Carey’s became a very importance systematic in nature. The model however consists of different system which includes ten major process components (nine is consist of basic steps in an iterative cycle and a culminating evaluation of the effectiveness of the instruction). The Encyclopedia asserts that the Dick and Carey is “very popular” in current ISD development. This model is based upon the Behaviorist assumption that there is predictable link between a stimulus and the response that it elicits in the learner. The Dick and Carey method is to break instruction down into smaller components or granular objectives that collectively constitute the competency to be acquired.
