As an educator it is important to acquire knowledge in the field of technology. With knowledge you can gain skill to prefect students learning. Education means more than acquiring knowledge. It empowers people to develop personally and become politically active. Education empowers, and education promotes greater participation in students as well as teachers. According Picciano (2008) in Chapter 4 he states that this concept that knowledge is power should not be reviewed negatively. Because of public control and the number of constituents, schools generally require their administrative leaders to have expert or information power.

However I am a family oriented person who teaches my family the things they need to function on a daily base.  My family has learned over the years how to collaborate and work together as a team. Teaching them allows me to concentrate on being effective leader and sharpen my skills in the teaching process. Most of my family members know the value of obtaining knowledge and how it can lead to success in life. Education is very important to both your personal and professional life, in a number of significant ways!

With an education I have learned to growth in knowledge and success. My vision is to become effective teacher in the future as I continue to grow in Knowledge. According to Hall (2011) theory is a key responsibility of any leader is the development and management of an organization’s or team’s vision. The presence of a powerful vision is what allows an organization to reach its goals. Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

This week assignment In Hall’s book “The technology director’s guide to leadership: The power of great questions” (2008), present great information on how to be effective leader in technology. Like many I wonder how you can be effective in leadership. What key factors to look for in being a leader or their just one set rule to follow. According to The Director’s guide to Leadership, by Don Hall, Max begin question his leadership role in his position that he eagerly accepted. However we will struggle with some weakness in becoming a successful leader. At some point in our life we will display some great quality as well as some weakness in trying to be an effective leader. While reading I learn that there are different kinds of leaders that Halls project to his readers. Throughout the world leadership such as educators, pastor, partents, University and others leader are preparing to give it best quality as a leader.
In the Technology Director’s Guide to Leadership, by Don Hall, he states that “Success is not usually achieved through accident or trails and error. True, you can learn lessons through those methods, but they are slow and costly. It’s better to have a plan”. (Hall, 2008). Nevertheless hall focuses upon the Leadership Continuum Model (LCM) which portrayed a particular aspect of the archetypes. Now these three leadership types are Sage, Sensei, and Oracle. The stage represents the authoritarian type of leadership, the sensei represents the dual role of mentor and the facilitator, and the oracle leadership type lives primarily in the global and abstract ideas. We learn in Educational Leadership and Planning for Technology, by Picciano, he focus on the importance of planning fundamentals. He highly recommends that the educational administration must plan.
As we learn before we must have goals and plan which is a key factor in this chapter. (Picciano, 2011) When using technology for promoting and planning educational needs it can set the motion of an excellent leader skill. My world view focus on Picciano when he incorporated how we should focus on the importance of planning fundamentals. I agree with Picciano that we must learn to plan because this is a key factor. Just like Christ he presented a plan for salvation for all mankind. In the bible different plans was given to structure many buildings for society. This was all done by planning and making sure everything was correct in its form.

Multimedia as a term name implies, multimedia is the integration of multiple forms of media. This includes text, graphics, audio, video, etc. For example, a presentation involving audio and video clips would be considered a "multimedia presentation." Educational software that involves animations, sound, and text is called "multimedia software." CDs and DVDs are often considered to be "multimedia formats" since they can store a lot of data and most forms of multimedia require a lot of disk space. When using multimedia technology it is very importance to make sure that all software is working correctly. When planning for multimedia applications require consideration of specialized hardware and software components (Picciano, 2011).

However this is no longer the case and except for higher-end video and audio production, most microcomputers (including laptops) now provide basic video and audio capture components.
These components are value to teachers in using different multimedia presentation for teaching. Computers and educational multimedia and software in the classroom may be more convenient, but it is quite an expensive proposition. In addition, having educational multimedia and software in individual classrooms can be troublesome and high maintenance. Computers in the actual classroom itself may very well be a more convenient and ideal setup for both the teacher and students. However, it is only slightly less of a hassle to use your educational multimedia and software in a computer lab. Another advantage to having your educational multimedia and software located in one place is that you can hire one instructor who is well-educated on educational multimedia and software as the instructor for every group as the students take turns using the educational multimedia and software.

However Hall reminds us that one of the greatest dangers technologists face in the area of communications is the lure of the technology. Because we generally are not afraid of it, we like to explore the new and innovative. As technology leaders, we are tasks with managing one or more complex and costly areas of school operations. Schools and districts are grappling with diminishing resources while trying to respond to increased demands for public accountability. This increased public scrutiny causes educational executives to be more sensitive to all expenditures. When resources are not used for technology it makes it hard for superintendents and other executives to articulate the value of technology to their boards and other constituents (Hall, 2008).
